Come Here, Watson (3rd plate in the series). On March 10, 1876 at 5 Exeter Place in Boston, the telephone carried its first intelligible sentence. "Mr. Watson, come here, I want you!" Watson rushed into the room shouting "Mr. Bell, I heard every word you said - distinctly!" Bell had upset the acid of the battery but quickly forgot the accident in his joy over the success of the telephone. Artist George Rapp captured this important moment in history.
